Welcome!
That was a SouthBay with the triples O/B's on the back and in Aug. 2012 at the LOTO shootout it hit 112 mph, it was 2011 when it hit 107 mph. The Playcraft has a 496 HO I believe and hit 102 mph. But either way that is cookin in a Toon.

I have seen the videos of that tri. It is insane! I have been to Lake of the Ozarks but not to the shootout. My brother inlaw goes from time to time and my neighbor goes. Since Im back into boating, maybe I can make it up there.

Also, I have to wonder what they have done to beef up that transom or how long that transom will last with that much weight and 900hp ripping and tearing with each gouge of the throttle.
Yeah, it wasn't your standard off the line production Toon. Many mods done by SouthBay to with stand the punishment.

Welcome I am a one year toon owner as well. I have owned flats boats and center consoles previously. Anyway don't reinvent the wheel. Buy a tritoon with a big motor. Everyone in the family will be happy :biggrin2 :biggrin2 :biggrin2

Welcome! This is a great forum. I've learned sooooo much from everyone since I joined just two weeks ago. I'm a total newb to pontoons and I'm a bit nervous about how to operate one. Used to sailing a 26' fixed keel boat on the Mississippi River, dodging barges, For some reason, I'm somewhat terrified of taking out a motor-only boat on big lake, which also has barge lanes. The only time I was on a pontoon boat was MANY years ago, when I skied behind one on Beaver Lake. I enjoyed it very much- enough that the memory of it convinced me it would be good to have one now (especially since I want to learn to fish). So welcome to you, these folks are great. And very funny. A forum as informative as it is enjoyable!
