Before you go to the trouble of beefing up the transom for a much bigger motor, you might want to make sure the boat is rated for that horsepower. If not, there could be insurance issues as well as others. There have been threads before on this so you might want to do a search to see what other folks had to say.

bassn386, the transom is rated for 115hp, but it is hard for me to believe that a boat of this size can not handle a 150hp motor. I will check with my insurance company and do a search.
