Extending Life of Canvas

#1 Post by Drago » Tue Jun 02, 2009 4:31 am

We've had the boat 15 months now and I've read some things on cleaning the Bimini top and Playpen cover. I've not found any reference to protecting the canvas (mine both look like the same material - not Sunbrella) from the destructive forces of the UV rays. Anyone have some life experiences with this? BMR?

I leave my bimini top inside the zipper cover unless its being used, still looks new (cover is starting to look pretty bad)... As for the boat cover, its getting beat up very badly from the elements but its doing its job and protecting the furniture so I am not too worried about it.

I concur on the 303, expensive but worth it. Our seats and canvas still look new.

Thanks guys. Got the stuff on order now. I plan on cleaning both the bimini and playpen cover this weekend if it holds off raining and treat with 303 High Tech Fabric Guard. Looks like 2 32 oz. bottles will cover them.
