You guys think P D B is bad

#1 Post by bruuuuce » Sun Jun 28, 2009 6:15 pm

You guys think PDB is bad I just got banned from pontoonstuff.com... I haven't made a post there in a few months and out of the blue got an email from their admin telling me I had to change my address because it appeared to be a WORK email address and that was against their Use Policy.

I think something has happened to the poor feller and he has lost a step or two, really he has that kind of time to police email addresses?

It's better here anyway Bruuuuce. Was it Wildcat who banned you?

I posted the website for the guys who did the custom work on my boat and Wildcat deleted the post saying the site was owned by a private company and FMI was a competitor or some sort of crap. Meanwhile, Vescom was posting a web link a day. He even posted the exact same site I posted on more than one occasion.

You have a job??? No wonder you were banned. Republican! Capitalist pig! Herr Obama will not be pleased to know this.

You can expect a visit from the internet compliance czar any day now.

Got an email from pontoonstuff.com today
Hi Bruce.

My name is Sean and I am the General Manager of PontoonStuff.com. I feel I need to get involved with this situation. Charles is our Administrator for the forum and is a bull dog when it comes to someone he feels is trying to get free advertising or may be up to something "sneeky". Being that has been in the military and then a police officer after that, everything is either black or white with him. He has been a great administrator for PontoonStuff in keeping people away that aren't on the forum for exchanging information or ideas. I will talk to Charles to clear this up. Please accept my apologies and we will get this taken care of today.

Over the years, its become painfully obvious to everyone on the planet, but to the mod's on that board, that everything on that site is biased towards their store...

I think we'd even take someone whos email addy was imadick@head.com :devillol

Same thing happened to me. I have had the same non-work address for over 10 years and they banned me and wanted me to get some sorry yahoo or hotmail account so I could get spammed to death. I have had my own server with e-mail I will be darned if I am going to change it to chat about boats because of some power hungry moderator wanting to compensate for some unknown short coming

I am no longer buying anything from them and am spreading the word to all my fellow boaters that I know, the investment message boards I hang out on as well as hanging out at the lake to tell them as well.

Funny thing is the moderator made it a point to say that the forum and retail site were separate. I guess the retail site better fire him and find a new moderator because their business is about to go down the tubes. (pun intended)

Good Luck,

Lee
