Hi Bruce,

I was waiting for some input from the other Admins/Moderators before getting back to you. I wanted to clarify why they felt it was necessary to not allow business e-mails. The reason is the large amount of email's that get bounced back to them because of people who lose or change jobs and don't update their email address. If someone signs up with a free e-mail thru gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc, this makes things easier for the Admins/Moderators to process. They are not paid employee's of PontoonStuff and do this of their own free will. I don't think this rule is unreasonable. I have 2 seperate accounts and I feel the majority of people do, especially with businesses watching what kind of emails are coming in and out of their company mail service. We have about 2000 members of our forum and would like to include everyone but if this rule seems "stupid" or unreasonable then maybe our forum isn't for everyone.

Yea I happened over there on their site looking for something and happen to click on forums and just read a few threads, just enough to know I wouldn't want any part of that. Wildcat did come on pretty strong in his replies.

I'm a moderator on that site. I was asked if I would volunteer to help out and I happily accepted. I do it as a way to help people out and I never jump on anyone who doesn't jump first. The rules are up for everyone to read overthere and if you can't follow the rules then why join in the first place? I have purchased items from Pontoonstuff and have only been treated with the utmost courtesy. Their products have been top notch and I will do business with them in the future. I am not compensated and I am speaking of my own opinions and experiences. I noted that the person who claims having to have had to pay for return shipping has only one post. Hmmmmm!!!! strange that would be his first post. I wonder if he can post a pic of that return slip? I guarantee he can't. Nobody said for any one to change their personal e-mail accounts, it was suggested to create a additional yahoo or hotmail account and that would satisfy the rules and make things a little easier. The rules are enforced so that everyone knows that silliness will not be tolerated and to avoid any meltdowns due to misunderstandings. I know that most of the story involved here has been left out and the rest of the story would shed a little more clarity on the situation. The story is not as one sided as it is reported and I'm not going to further this one sided discussion as the truth would mean nothing. I can only say that I try and get on there as much as possible but I work alot and can't help out as much as I would like to. I think that the site is a orderly place to get some good info and if all it takes is a yahoo or hotmail address to get good info then its a small price for free info. Links can be posted there if it is not for a competing item, it is a business run site after all. Links are asked not to mention sites by name just make a clicky link, so as to not provide free advertising. I have been and always will be a standup guy, I would not and will not be a part of any type of site that uses Nazi tactics. I always try and help anyone I can and will always do so. It seems to me that the Nazi statements are a little extreme. I am confident that most of the site members here realize that they are only seeing a jaded one sided part of the story. I enjoy the info at the site just as I enjoy the info and comics at this site. It is a strictly business site devoted to Pontoon. I have had my say and will not reply further unless the whole story is reported by those throwing around accusations. Eagerly awaiting the rest of the story.

I posted the emails, that is both sides that I know of... Maybe you know more than I do since your a moderator, but I don't think I posted anything one sided.

I was asked to change my email address, my reply is no I do not want a yahoo or hotmail address. No ones business why I don't but mine, but I don't want one and will not get one to be part of any site. I explained this to Charles and Sean and neither cared. The fact that you ahve to have an email address from yahoo, gmail or hotmail is crazy talk.

If you asked to be taken off how can you complain about them honoring your request. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Is there some type of axe to grind here? The rules were in place when you signed on. You don't have to have a hotmail, or a yahoo, you simply can't use a workplace email address. What is so difficult to understand about that. What is the big deal about using something other than a work email? It's not like you are being asked for your first child or a testicle or some kind of a religious offering. Why does Pontoonstuff worrying about someone advertising when their name is one a few sites for free and we recomend them to people, so I guess if I used my pontoonforums e-mail I'll get banned too.

But let it go, it will settle itself in the long run and get out on the pontoon adn forget life for a while.

You haven't gotten the full story either my friend, your only getting what they want you to hear so they look good. Wouldn't expect them to spin this any other way.

I can't post the entire email mono log because for one portion of the conversation I used pontoonstuff.com Web Contact form and it doesn't email you a copy of what you sent ( http://www.pontoonstuff.com/contact-pontoonstuff.asp ).

I am sure that Charles is spinning the side of the story you got also to make himself look better. I don't remember asking to be deleted, I don't remember it, provide it in print for me and I will retract all my words. However since I don't have the contact page email I am not sure (doubting myself because you are trying to discredit my word) if I said that or not. If I did, it would have been something to the affect of, I guess if I have to change my email account you will have to delete my account because I won't change my email address.... That isn't asking to be deleted....

Bruce did you read the forum rules? It shows its owned by ****cool.com (Tim S**** l**k@****cool.com which is IT services. To me, that's work related. Also email received for verification and can't be verified as coming from a verified email provider will also won't be allowed for forum use (ie those who create their own mailing system using hosted providers such as godaddy.com and others). Also any email deemed as being submitted from ie: anonymous remailers will also not be acceptable and your account will be blocked and/or deleted. This isn't open for debate.

(I changed the domain and person's name that charles referenced, they don't have a need to be in this fight, they are not involved)

make me change it. I own vlmtech.com, I am a private company and I don't have to explain
how the company is organized to you for the use of a email address on a "recreational"
message board.

Their is absolutely nothing wrong with the email address I have used.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER THIS EMAIL - MY PONTOONSTUFF.COM ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED OR DELETED NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!! And At this point I had only talked with charles via email and one PM and that copied above. I had not used the contact page at pontoonstuff.com yet... so I know I DID NOT ASK TO BE DELETED,at this point.

I am almost certain this is the message I sent on the contact us page at pontoonstuff.com, I could be wrong but almost sure as I would have copied and pasted it from the email I sent to jim.

I will man up if I did ask to be deleted but I don't think I did. I am sure in Charles mind I did ask to be deleted since I didn't agree to change my email address like commanded. Like Sean says,

I am sure in his mind I did ask to be deleted since I didn't roll over and change my address. But I just don't think I did, I am sure I didn't but your attack on me calling me a liar and saying I didn't post both sides makes me second guess myself.... But I will if you can post where I did eat my words, but would also say if I said delete me, it was after trying to state my case and still getting a NO. But I know that I hadn't spoke of deletion as of that one email and when I went to check the site had found that I had been disabled or deleted.

No big deal really, I am still living just fine without pontoonstuff.com just fine. I know what happened and won't go back, glad you like the "structure" there, I like structure and order but the email thing is just over the top.

Rick from PDB is also a mod there and he was a problem child at PDB, don't know how he is at pontoonstuff though because I decided not to waste my time there.
