Ferg's Winter Project

Re: Ferg's Winter Project
So for speaker install, I'm thinking of mounting the speakers towards the top of the lounge back seats facing the inside of the boat. Thoughts? My thought was that it would help with sound vs. having them down by the floor. This way they would be more ear level for sound. They would be mounted close to the top on the lounge back piece. The grill cover would follow the curve of the lounge back edge.
Thoughts?

Re: Ferg's Winter Project
Higher mount is a GREAT idea, as long as they aren't directly in someones ear

Re: Ferg's Winter Project
I have my speakers mounted like you are thinking about doing, or so I think mine are in the back of the lounge backs facing the back of the boat. I've been very happy with the sound from them.

I am always in awe of folks like Ferg! I have a friend (unfortunately he moved 6 hours away) that could take a bundle of sticks and make something useful from it. I, on the other hand, would do a damn fine job of making sawdust. Sawdust is useful, right?
Great job, man!

Re: Ferg's Winter Project
Got a few more things done yesterday.
- First and foremost, I finally got my fuel line setup complete. It required some extra cutting on my corner bench seat to get the back off, but it finally is on! This thing has been a pain in the rear. Tight places and no flexibility with the hose!
- Got my battery cables in and those ran. Ordered wrong fitting on one end of those, but oh well.
- Remote oil tank lines ran
- Decided to go with battery trays instead of battery boxes due to the shear size of the boxes, and the lack of accessibility. The marina only had one in stock, so I'll get the 2nd one later.
- Prop installed
- Factory chassis harness is now re-ran under the boat. Except for 1 speaker, all of the current harness wiring will fit

.
Same here, I have to buy twice the materials to make a project. Without caulk and filler I'm screwed
