Most noteworthy you'll certainly eliminate that pulsing drag felt from clipping the top off of the waves as you go down the lake.

Also helps out when you're loaded down. At higher speeds and loaded down you can actully gain some lift of the boat.

I've owned both configurations and by far skin is the way to go if you can afford it and are looking to pick up some extra performance.

skinning is one of the best things to do. Great job. I have mine overlapped starting at back, to front. you will be supprised on the force the water puts on it. Mine after 4 seasons and being removed and reinstalled after another project (3rd log)are showing wear and tear of the water hitting them. I would think about over laping them. you don't want the water to bend the panels up just enough so that you get a wave between the sheets. that could cause problems. I also keep checking the screws during the season. I find some missing and others loose. I have used marine epoxy on them (especially in the stearn) to keep them from vibrating loose. Did I mention the force of water is really great under there? It did really smooth out the ride. no more studdering from when a wave hits the cross members. Great job and you have to post on what your thoughts are on the improvement! How's your back and knees feel now? I was sore for 2 weeks after installing mine. Did it on Easter Sunday originally, So I know how you must feel (and 4th of July no less!) Shoulders also felt it for a few days!

To ALL I have to say WOW what a difference !!!!! The wife and I could not believe our ears, It actually quieted the boat. You can't hear the wake hitting the bottom any more. SMOOTH & QUITE I would recommend this to anyone... It really makes a difference. Sorry no pics or increase in mph because the wife forgot the camera and the Garmin. I will be going back next weekend and let you know the increase and some pics of what is happening under the boat. :drunks
