New Boat, New to the forum.

Hey guys, Ive been lurking on the forum for a couple of years and figured it was time to finally register. My wife and I have had a couple pontoons and had recently sold our last one in June before our first baby was born. Well needless to say I was going through withdrawls all summer and finally pulled the trigger on another one in late August. I was originally looking for a used triple toon with 150hp or more outboard in the 22-24ft range. I couldnt believe the what people were asking for these 2-4yr old boats. So, after dozens of hours of looking online and a few trips to local dealers we made a decision. I bought a new "holdover" 2014 Sylvan Signature 8523 LZ Triple toon with the outer RPT toons and the new 200hp Yamaha 4 cylinder outboard. We absolutly love the boat so far and bang for your buck Sylvan offers one heck of a boat. We also looked at Bennington, Manitou, and Premier but we found that the value was much better with the Sylvan. I guess the timing was perfect and this dealer wanted to move out of all current inventory and we ended up buying this boat for less than what i could have bought a used one for so I couldnt complain.

I know some people have complained about the RPT tubes and i did a ton of research on the RPT setups and called a few dealers to get there opinions on the setup. I guess in 2014 they redesigned them into the 2.0 version which have been reinforced in the nose cone and feature thicker aluminum throughout the entire toon. So far the handling is great and they are super quick to plane off. Sylvan also gives a 6yr full warranty on the boat and I got them to throw in a 5yr Yamaha warranty on the outboard.

Yes its a ton of fun! The plane flys around 25-30mph and the boat has no issues keeping up!
