Hopefully new Pontoon owner fron Iroquois Ontario

#1 Post by Will » Fri Mar 27, 2015 6:09 am

Hi I am new here and in search of a pontoon, I presently own a 2006 Sea Ray 185 Sport and do my of boating on the St. Lawrence River, so I am thinking of buying a pontoon with 25" diameter pontoons for more stability on the river and nothing older than a 2008, so I guess I will be asking a lot of questions from you experts :bowdown

Welcome Will!

In your considerations, you might want to look at getting a tri-toon. 3 tubes are much smoother riding than 2.

I was issued a command from the Admiral (that's how we refer to our spouses here). She said "We will have a tritoon. Period." The idea is that more "endowed" women definitely appreciate the smoother ride. As one of our passengers said on our boat, "Wow, I don't even have to wear a sports bra under my swimsuit!"

Bob would have said ,you don't even have to wear your swimming suit, if not for the look from the Admiral :rofl :rofl :rofl

Welcome, hope you find the toon to fit you and your pocket book, remember you can always get an older one and fix it up, mine was old when I got it, then most of the furniture went, I was getting by with lawn furniture, then two years ago my brother and I took it all apart and made it new again, so don't pass one in good shape except for above deck looks.

Will,

There are a lot of used toons out there. Sometime you just have to do some driving to find the good ones. My first was a used Sweetwater great toon paid 12,000 for it after a couple of years I got stupid and traded it for a deck boat. As you can see from my signature I got smat again. Toons are the greatest for family fun. Fishing, riding and grilling. Yes when you get the toon you will need a grill. Nothing better then on the water with the family and grill a few burgers and dogs.
