Put the boat to bed today

#1 Post by jediger » Thu Oct 22, 2015 7:59 pm

It's always a little bit sad when we have to put the boat to bed. I'm always wishing for just one more weekend of nice weather, but it's getting late in the year and too risky to chance it.

Ironically, less boating usually also means less new posts on one of my favourite forums. Things always seem to dry up here somewhat in the winter months. Hope the summer has been good to you all and that winter brings tons of dreams (realistic or otherwise) for interesting boat mods, and day trips next summer.

Personally, I've already established that I "need" a new larger fish finder, a raw water pump, and a new house battery. In the absence of the funds to do these things, I will just have to obsessively plan them for when the funds become more available. :donno

Have a great winter folks?

Well , you too pard.

Fortunately, I can boat all year, cold at times but no solid stuff!

BTW fishfinders like outboards on pontoons are rarely big enough!

I've been out on the lake this week. The water's been like glass and the skies very blue. My day was better than I deserve.

The leaves are still green, but turning into other colors in the upcoming days. I've got my 100% gasoline, RingFree Plus and Stabil in my tank in case I soon decide to put the mooring cover on the boat.

I've got to go clean up my fifth wheel trailer and winterize it next week--up in the North Georgia Mountains. I'm sending the wife and her girlfriend to Florida to go on a cruise to Belize and Mexico.
