It's custom built to what the customer wants. If you don't want to stand out just get plain colors and seating like the rest of the pontoon boats. Everybody's taste is different.

Yes, everybody's taste is different. I just think Playcraft would sell more high performance toons if they updated the styling. I would love to have one of those hot rods, but, if I won the lottery, I'd pay Chip Foose to customize it instead of George Barriss. (I know, George died last year, but hopefully you get my point.)

And the stepped hull is intriguing. How fast will this one run? The word around this lake is Gus sold the last fast one (Playcraft with twin 300's) because it was TOO fast.

They're destined to buy their massive amounts of fuel at one of two marinas, and they pay about $1.50 per gallon more than I do in town. I don't understand how people with big dual engines can afford to run their boats very much--but they do.

It's not like they can do as I do and haul Jerry cans or a Fuel Buddy down to the boat dock.

We have a friend with a 38 Cigarette with twin 1350 HP blown racing motors detuned to _only_ 1050 HP. He told me he spends about $900 per weekend for gas, booze and food. He's a generous guy who buys a lot of drinks for friends and takes lots of people to dinner with him, but that is a lot of money.

last year, at the coast, I saw a kid, probably 18, driving daddy's boat. 4 mercury 300hps hanging, This kid all day long back and fourth doing 80 or 90. Must be nice for money not even to cross your mind.

That's what got Denise and I into pontoons. Along with the size of the family growing. My last weekend run at LotO with my old Baja cost me $1200 back in 2007 when the price of gas flew to $5 something on the lake. That was enough for me. We have seen alot of kids driving daddies Fountains, Skaters and MTI's. Spoiled brats!
Back to the Playcraft... I love the twins! Am a big fan of seeing the performance side on pontooning grow. Exciting times ahead for us old gearheads who need the room a pontoon boat offers!

Saw this boat at the boat show last month. They posted yesterday on Facebook that they were testing soon. I'd imagine it'll be somewhere in the high 70's low 80's. I know the guy that bought the twin 300 one a couple of years back and it's supposed to run in the 70's.

Asked the dealer about the stepped design on the toons and he said they went with bigger toons on the boat that actually slow it down a few mph and when you add these steps you get the speed back from the smaller toons but it's basically a wash. I'll post when I see the speed numbers.
