vinyl flooring

#1 Post by shoundog » Mon May 09, 2016 7:56 pm

I have a 18' Tryton with carpet. Its 12 years old and I am sick of the carpet. It still cleans up ok but has stains and dark areas around the edges that will not come out. I was thinking about vinyl. Pontoon is over 8' wide and was looking at the MariDeck in a light gray. I saw several bad reviews about it being seamed and some said they were ugly. I would like to see some photos of decks that have been covered in this stuff or comments from those that have use the product. Thanks

I have not used that product, so I can't comment on it specifically.

I installed the vinyl flooring from Pontoon Stuff. It is incredible. I love it. I would never go back to carpet. I don't have any seams. I ordered one piece big enough to cover the boat. Comes 8'6" wide by whatever length you want.

There will be some that say it is hot on your feet. Yes, it does feel hotter than carpet, but it's never been a problem for me. I can wash it down. I can pressure wash it. If it gets dirty, I don't even worry about it.

I bought the vinyl from Poontoon Stuff for my hardtop conversion and it was very easy to install. I even recovered the topside of the cabin. I plan to also recover my main deck later this summer.

Ordered samples from Pontoon Stuff. I am getting rid of this carpet one way or the other.

You are doing it right. My tracker was carpet and I hated it. New boat is vinyl and I'm love it.

Another vote for vinyl from pontoonstuff.com. I got the thick stuff and am very happy with it. Search this forum. There is a lot of good information and tips on installing available.

Anyone tried the woven pvc yet? Looks very nice. I am torn between it and vinyl.

Ive got it on my new Harris... Gets hot in the sun and a little slippery when wet. Only used it a couple times but still 100 times better than carpet!

Looks great. Do you like it better than the vinyl floors?
