Hey there-
I am wondering if props have any markings to identify the specs? I have a 1999 Johnson 70 HP with what appears to be a 14" diameter prop and no idea of the pitch. It does have numbers stamped on it, but doesn't mean much to me: 55 285. Above the first "5" is a smaller font "H" and below the first 5 is a smaller font "C".
Is there a way to measure the pitch?
Thanks

I'm sure that there is, just nothing us laymen understand how to do...urbnsr wrote:...I guess not.

Re: IDing Current Prop Specs?
I'd suggest pulling your current prop off and then observe the bushing on the end of the prop for prop identification we can understand or relate too. Anyway take a look and then post back if you are still seeking help.

Re: IDing Current Prop Specs?
Finally got a chance to pull the prop to find Michigan and their part number (or most of it). After using Michigan's prop selector for my boat size/motor, they returned the complete part number.
