Repower pricing

Hello folks:

After having my Yami 115 for 9 years and 1019 hours on the clock I've decided to upgrade to a Yami 150. My question is price. Has anybody done this and what did you pay. Online, a new Yami 150's is anywhere from $8500 to $10,000 and install being about $1000. I want new rigging also. Looking for someone who's had this done so I know where to start. Thanks much for any input.

Where are you seeing new Yamaha F150's for $8500? I've always seen them closer to $12K or a little more.

Whenever a dealer orders a motor through the engine manufacturer, he's going to pay substantially more than a motor ordered through a boat manufacturer that orders engines in bulk or fleet prices.

The cheapest I'm seeing Mercury 150 FourStrokes is $10,200 less rigging.

If a Yamaha's on the boat already, they should be able to plug up the new engine to the present gearshift binacle and use the same gauges, etc. $1K would be out of line for mounting the engine as the same hole pattern should be used.

With appologies, I was looking at Ed's Marine, Mercury prices. So $13,000 roughly is a good price for a yamaha 150? I checked out Bass Pro and priced out a Mercury just to get a general idea of what I could get a yamaha put on for. Their price was $14,600 for the Mercury out the door with all rigging and propped. Think that's in the same neighborhood a the yamaha. The funny thing is, he's selling me the motor for $13,000. If that's the case, how can Ed's Marine sell his 150s so cheap??

Check out his prices--probably as low as anywhere.
Jacos takes appointments for repowering and mounting engines--one day service. And his mechanics are as good as they come.
And Jacos is within a day's drive for 50% of the U.S. population.

Bought a prop from them fast good service and very helpful! It'd be worth the time to save the money I'm sure...

I appreciate the input but I just can't do Mercury. I struck a deal, I'm paying $14,200 out the door for a new Yamaha 150 including all new cables,harnesses and installations. I'll be using my existing gauges. Now I have to wait 2 looooong weeks to get it in. Guess I'll have to update my member info

If you weren't in a hurry I might would have waited until the spring. Most manufacturers do repower events at that time where you an get awesome financing deals, but more importantly, many throw in new rigging and often gauges. I know a friend repowered a few years back when they were giving 0% for like 6 years and all new gauges, controls, and cables for an Evinrude a few years back.
