Help Selecting Propeller for 200 HP Tritoon
Hello,
I have a 2006 22.75' Premier Legend 225 PTX performance tritoon. It has a 2006 200 HP Suzuki DF200 Outboard.
The boat currently has a 15.3x21 Aluminum 3 Blade Prop on it. I am seeing 44 MPH at 5800 RPMs. The WOT RPM range for my engine is 5000-6000.
I am trying to get the most top speed possible out of the boat. Does anyone have recommendations on a good prop? I was thinking maybe a Mecury Enertia or Laser 2.
Thanks in advance!

Bryden has more prop experience than others on this forum.
The Suzuki's are different from other outboards because they have a planetary gear in the driveshaft lowering the gear ratio dramatically. They have to run large diameter, high pitch props versus other engines of the same horsepower. One of the problems is finding mechanics that are really familiar with setting up large Suzuki motors, as there are relatively few Suzuki dealers.
Had you been running a stainless steel propeller, you might be approaching the maximum level of performance @ 5800 rpm's. But I don't have any Suzuki experience and have no idea what brand and model of propellers work best on those motors.

The guy who suggested the Suzuki prop on THT is one of the best prop guys around. He knows everything there is to know about props. Tom Clark knows his stuff.[quote="jserr68594"]Hello,

Going through a calculations, you are 12% slip right now. That's not bad. I ran the numbers through BAM and Mercury and came with the best props for speed. Chose 6 different props and ran them. I come up with a Merc Enertia ECO, 16X21 part# 8M0040402 coming in at 8% slip and 52mph at the same 5800 RPM's. No surprise on the ECO, Tritoons love large diameter, big eared props. Nice thing about the ECO's they have been out for a few years now and are cropping up on Craigslist and Ebay for reasonable prices. Bad thing is, I just sold one for $425.00 with 1 run on it. I would have sent it to you try before your buy. I still have a 21 QS Torrent, 4 blade, but its LH rotation and has a Merc hub.

I will have to look into that Enertia prop as well. Thank you for your input!

Any SS will be much better then your current prop.
Merc Enertia will be your best bet most likely.

2012 SouthBay 722CRO 115hp Merc 4-stroke. Edit, make that a 150hp Merc 4-stroke now.

Agreed, make sure its an Enertia ECO, standard Enertia's are too small in diameter to decrease the slip.

I ended up buying this prop: http://www.ebay.com/itm/302203625776?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT
I am hoping I may gain a few MPH with it.
