Fuel gauge question

#1 Post by Craigld » Wed Jun 14, 2017 12:06 am

New member and first time posting, so be gentle. :biggrin2

I have a 2000 24' JC Manufacturing SunToon. With the exception of the fuel gauge, everything is working fine. I have already verified the sender unit by shorting it out at the tank. That leaves the gauge itself, or the wiring from the tank to the cockpit. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can get access to the back of the gauge? There are screws that appear to remove the entire instrument panel, but am afraid of what else I might mess up if I tried pulling the entire panel. The back of the cockpit area doesn't appear to come off. Can a single gauge be pulled out? If so, how do you do that?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions that anyone can provide.

Does your helm station have a door on the side to where you can access the back of the gauges from underneath?

If so, you'll be able to get to the fuel gauge from there. It should be held in the hole by a couple of nuts.

Does not the helm hinge up about 1/3 the way from the top thus exposing all the interior helm components? The top folds out of the way providing full access to all helm innards. Is this what you are asking?

Thanks you both for your suggestions. By looking closer, I saw the access and that has allowed me to fix the problem. I now have a working fuel gauge.

This pontoon is great! :)
