Good god FINALLY!

#1 Post by curtiscapk » Mon Jun 26, 2017 1:30 pm

We actually got on the water! Truman got to over 23 ft high so with weekend weather and home stuff to do it was a late first launch. Installed new fishfinder Garmin Striker chirp 4v (read only used for gps and depth gauge) Changed plugs too (2 mph improvement!) It was super windy had some issues at the dock, but didn't have my normal crew. My brother and nephew were going on their first trip on 35 miles tooling around. (gps tracking is awesome you can even see the squiggly lines from tubing !) forgot to turn it off at the dock so it added the 4 mile trip towing from dock to camper. They both went tubing I had a blast bouncing the hell out of my big brother. I usually do all the driving but the Admiral took over for a bit and gave me a different perspective of boating... She found a windless cove and we almost hit all time high of 23, missed the pic though. All and all a great time! Should be 3 lake weekends in a row before vacation in Dauphin Island in 4 weeks.

PS

look close at the pictures... practically had the whole 35 miles to ourselves. Saw 10 boats in 6 hours!

Wish I could only see 10 boats in 6 hrs.
I see 10 boats just coming out of our cove.
Hope you have as much fun for the rest of the summer.

Craig... glad you all finally got out on the water. Looks like you guys had a blast... love the pooch... I hear you about not seeing too many other boats out.. since me and momma retired we normally go out during the week... alot more parking spots at the launch, no crowds and of course, not a lot of boat traffic flying by while we're fishing... thanks for sharing the pics craig...

Alright. Glad to see lakes here in the midwest getting back under control. Looks like you had a great weather over the weekend as well.

We just received word last week that TRL is now low enough for us to get to our slip. Can wait to burn off that winter fuel and get back to boating.

Cheers

Good to see you got out.

Been thinking plugs and wires for my boat. Maybe I'll have some improvement like you did. :)
