enertia props
Well I thought i had an Enertia prop on my boat but it is a Stainless steel Quicksilver Q3 prop 15 x 15
i see some sellers on ebay are calling it a enertia, does anyone know what this really is, is has a casting mark of Q3 on it and it does look identical to the Enertia prop. can anyone shed any light on this.
Thanks Mike

Re: enertia props
Seems the Q3 is the generic version of the Mercury Enertia...
Likely no different than the Mercury Spitfire versus the Quicksilver Nemesis, slightly lower in cost but did not come with a hub kit...

Re: enertia props
It's the same prop but a Quicksilver name instead of a Mercury name on it.
Just like the Quicksilver Silverado vs. Mercury Vengeance.
Other examples are: Lightspeed vs (Laser II)
Thunderbolt vs (Mirage Plus)
Torrent vs (Tempest Plus)
QST 5 vs (High Five)

Re: enertia props
OK that settles that, so i found that my boat runs best with the Enertia 15 x 15
I have a new Enertia 15.3 x 14 pitch, I want a spare prop, would it be better to have the 14 pitch repitched to a
15 pitch or just sell it and buy a new correct pitch prop. The 14 pitch prop is a slightly larger diameter at 15.3.
any thoughts on this??

Re: enertia props
You can't repitch a SS prop.
Some shops say they can do it but in my personal experience it will not change one bit.
If it's a backup prop the 14 will do just fine.
I personally run both props, the 15 for lower elevation lakes like Havasu and the 14 for lake Powell which is much higher elevation.

Re: enertia props
They can repitch it with no problems. Had several of mine done with great success. RPMS were raised or dropped exactly to what I wanted.
Guy in Florida does amazing work. Knows props inside and out. You tell him your speeds ,rpms and what you want to achieve and he can do wonders with a prop.
You pay for shipping there and back. Which I have used FedEx from LA which cost me around $50 round trip.
He charges around $100 I believe. So in the end its much cheaper than buying a new prop.
He will perfectly balance it, change pitch and add cupping.
For the life of the prop he will work on it for free. You just pay shipping. Guy is great at what he does.
Rich Junker at Leading Edge Propellers. Call him and he will give you great advice and tell you what he can do.

Maybe I should have said Props Plus is Arizona cannot repitch a SS prop even tho they say they can...
Nice to hear Leading Edge can do it...

Re: enertia props
I spoke to my local prop guy about pitching props
he does not have the dies for the enertia props yet, but will have them soon, he has just started to get requests for them.
On pitching the prop he told me that when they repitch a prop, they can cannot bend the prop near the hub where it is thickest so they bend it out further on the blade where it is thinner. so yes he can repitch a prop but it will not be the same as a factory prop.
He suggested that i may be able to sell the prop and buy a new one for about the same money as sending my old one out and paying to repitch it. looks like about 150 to 200 to have a prop repitched including shipping
I will list the 15.3 x 14 enertia on this site later this week
