Go Brandon!!!!!
Ya, that richtor is deff a beast. Dont drop the fricken thing on your toe!
Ive got a couple river anchors too... I toss the Richtor off the front, then back off from it n drag it a bit till lock in... then toss a river anchor off the back quarter, and then crack the beers n tunes n party!
The only time ive had mine drag a bit was like mentioned earlier... serious wind crashing waves into the toon.
Thats when i throw out the second one..
Then it aint goin nowhere...
If i was ever going to sleep in the toon, id tie off to the shore...

Re: Anchors
I have the fluted mushroom but then we are all sand here, but this will grab rocks if we had any, just remember you need lot of line so you get the right angle to stick it good.
If I was going to sleep anchored I have the Drift alarm set on the GPS to wake you up.

I use a giant plow anchor, 35 lbs if I remember correctly. Feels like 75 lbs. pulling the damn thing up, but it's never broken loose

Re: Anchors
Congrats, BassFrequency! It's great to hear good news in this economy!!!
On the anchoring issue, I think 2 mistakes are most common. The first mistake is people do not let out enough scope. You should have at least 4' of rope out for every 1' of depth, and some people say up to 8 to 1 (hard to do if you are anchoring close to others in a busy cove). The second mistake is not enough chain. Most anchors are designed so that if the rope is pulling too close to straight up, the pulling will unseat the anchor. If you have several feet of chain out, the rope will pull at more of an angle since the chain will stay on the bottom (or closer to it than rope will). Pulling from that angle, it just helps the anchor dig in and you stay put.
If you have enough chain, and let out enough rope, most anchors will hold pretty well. Happy Anchoring!

Re: Anchors
I almost totally agree, but..........It's really not matching your anchor with the proper rode/chain/scope. My digger recommends not using a chain, but with a 5 to 1 scope and the box anchor can use as little as a 2 to 1 scope. When using anchor such as the flukes, many people do not properly use a chain/rode combination.I think 2 mistakes are most common.
I have a 100ft rode on my rinker that I hate. Just too much to pull up more than once. I am Probably going to cut into 2 50ft rodes like my pontoon.

Re: Anchors
problem with 7:1 or 10:1 is too many assholes run their boat too close and hit your rope.
i suppose i'm usually 4:1 or 5:1 and the danforth holds fine.
