Anybody else order a Sweetwater this spring?

#1 Post by benny429 » Mon Apr 19, 2010 10:11 am

We bought a Sweetwater Tuscany at a boat show on February 23rd. The dealer said he would order the boat in the next week and said we would probably have it at the end of April / beginning of May. I stopped in the other day to see if there were any updates and he said the date was pushed back until May 12th. I guess it's not a huge deal as the weather isn't the greatest yet.

I used to sell furniture, so I know the estimated ship date is just that - an estimate. But I have no patience.

Just wanted to see how long others were waiting.

I know how you feel. I am re-powering with new E-Tec 115 but no dealer has any so If I wait for evinrude to get me one I may be 2 weeks before it gets here. I can get a 90 today and may go that way.

I hate waiting for anything

Think demand has picked up this year. The boat industry doesn't seem to be affected like auto an other luxury items by the economy. From what I hear repo's are going high an not a large supply of them like houses.

Have a 8523 Sylvan Mandalay ordered and that has been push back a week because I was told by the dealer they have gotten busy.

We just ordered a 2010 2186 Sweetwater. They gave us a May 24th completion date. I decided to add the underskinning after our confirmation ticket so that pushed us back a few days also. I think with Memorial Day right around the corner that demand has picked up. We are hoping to have it Memorial Day weekend but I'm not holding my breath.

I hope it's here for Memorial Day, both ours and yours.

We picked our new pontoon up Saturday morning.

We ended up putting a 115 hp Yamaha four stroke on it. The water was pretty rough, but I got a GPS speed of 24-25 mph.
