man, seeing pictures of people with covered slips and lifts makes me jealous. My new ride is sitting in the water, no cover over the slip (full enclosure or playpen on it when not in use) with the logs starting to get dirty I'm sure. People who have had their boats in for more than a few weeks have tons of growth on the hull already.

Next season I'll clean and sharkhide, dealer and manufacture said not to do it this year due to the coating they come with from the factory. I listened, hope I don't regret listening this time!

How bad's the weather? We're forecast for snow Tuesday night and Wed morning, won't see 60 again until next weekend.

If I had the choice, I would have used the shark hide before my toon every touched the water. Regardless of what the dealer said. :2cents

While it's not snowing here, it's a lot more March like than May like... 50s and rainy pretty much every day since I put the boat in the slip. We've had several rounds of real bad Thunderstorms and I've been up to check on her a couple of times. with everything being new, I just wanted to make sure the lift didn't drop down for some reason or the cover hadn't blown off.

It's all good. Just waiting on nicer weather. Hopefully this week it straightens up some.

If I didn't have a lift and a covered slip, I'd be trailering my boat back and forth. that's why I didn't buy a boat last year after I sold my Malibu, was on the waiting list for a slip.

Protect and seals your toons so they stay new looking

I am new to this as well and trying to get an understanding on the products . . .

It seems there is a three-step process:

1. Cleaning the toons (some sort of acid wash or aluminum cleaner)
2. Polishing the toons (preferrably with a good buffer)
3. Protecting / sealing the toons

Are you using Sharkhide for the third step only? I saw there is a Sharkhide aluminum polish also -- is that what everyone is using?

Fortunately, my toons are not caked with gunk. They could benefit from a nice polish and make them shiny. Just wondering is I should get Sharkhide polish or just any aluminum polish then protect it with Sharkhide.

Thanks in advance for the clarification.

If your in good shape you can just use cleaning or the polishing compound if they in great shape with the buffer.
