Boat lift for a Party Hut 30
Greetings,
This is my first post. Bought a 30' Party Hut and want to keep it on the water. Very exposed big lake (Lake Champlain in Vermont). I have always kept my boats on lifts, but this monster toon looks like it needs a lift of a different breed.
Also, can anyone report on the wisdom, or lack therof, for leaving it on a moring with 2-3 foot maximum waves. My guess is that this would be ugly.
Thanks
Gary

In my neck of the woods, we have 50 foot cruisers on lifts, so weight isn't an issue. Just depends on the type of lift and OH clearance to any dock roof.Champlain wrote:Greetings,

What happens at the lake stays at the lake. Unless I have my camera handy.

Not a problem to have a lift. My Party Cruiser is only about 5500 lbs. and there's boats in my marina much heavier on lifts. Any lift company will know exactly what is needed. I'd be wary of a mooring if you normally get 2-3 foot waves though.

Re: Boat lift for a Party Hut 30
Thanks, I too have seen lots of big boats on lifts in places like Florida. In Vermont, you can't leave a lift in the water, because the winter ice will destroy it. It will snap a 16 inch piling and will even ride up onto the beach (pretzeled my shore station). Bottom line- I need a lift that works for the 30 foot Party hut, can be removed each year, and does not need power.
Does anybody keep a Party Hut on a lift??
Thanks!

Perhaps something like - http://www.1800boatlift.com/
The brochure does have some "portable" lifts. A friend of ours is in Minnesota and he has to use removable dock and lifts. But then, there is a company that goes around the lake hoisting stuff out.

Shorestation out of Iowa make hydrallic lifts. Consider a canopy as they really keep the interior dry and clean.
