I don't think you're looking to maybe build a pontoon houseboat framed up out of wood like mine but you may be able to glean some ideas that may be helpful with your anticipated project. There is a lot of photos included of various homemade ones along with mine. The progression of the links oldest to newest starts at the bottom and works up to the top. I agree, a bit on the ugly side but I do like the big windows...heck, the scenery is a big reason why we love being on the water. I've been kicking around the idea of using plexi-glass but am a bit concerned about scratches. I also want to be able to open it up for good venting. The only partition or "wall" if you will, is going to be for the porta-potty. I don't really have a budget yet but don't want to $pend a rediculous amount of money on this.

I'm going to do this guys and I do appreciate your input...

Not all plexiglass is the same, some of the higher end plexi resist scratches more better than some of the cheaper stuff, I can't remember some of the names for the better stuff but do a search on the net and you will see, plus plexiglass is lighter than safety glass and cost less, you don't want to use just regular glass..

I'd like to thank you for the very nice complement, it will contribute to keep me motivated to continue, and hopefully improve our site and resources.

In my build I made a real score on craigs list, I picked up a dilapidated camper for a song and utilized $100's of retail dollars on my rebuild. Windows, doors, water pumps, cooktops, ranges, and other potential finds can be had if you can find the right one, and have a place to scrap and salvage it for parts. Its a way to save "big" if you've a mind to, depending on where you live you also could have access to a RV, camper salvage yard also. Then you could just purchase the stuff you could actually use or need.
