guages

#1 Post by jazgeek » Mon Jun 14, 2010 1:23 pm

I have a 2000 bennington 2575 FS.

my trim, gas and battery guages don't work anymore. Can someone point me to where I can buy replacements without spending the $100+ each that bennington wants?

Cheers,
Jaz

For all those gauges to go out at same time is probably NOT the gauges, you have fuse or wiring issues.

Did they all go out at once? If so, another thing to check is a common ground. Get some contact cleaner and spray all your connections.

thanks for the pointers, but I have no idea when the guages went. I bought the boat last fall and had it serviced over the winter by a reputable marina near our cottage. He said he played with the guages and even straight power would not get them to move.

I'm pretty knowledgeable on electrical circuits and I actually have a schematic of the 2575 wiring direct from bennington. I'm more inclined to just get new guages anyway as the tach seems to be off by 1000rpms anyway.

First check on the back of the tach and make sure the # of cylinders dial is in the right place. The numbers on the dial do not represent the number of cylinders. There should be a sticker that shows what each number represents. I learned this through the burn and learn method.

It's always nice to have all new guages. Fist check if your gauges may be under warranty. I know faria gauges have a limited life time warranty.
