My boat furniture!! Help!

Hello everyone!!

I am new to this cool place. Our family just bought a 1998 Fisher Freedom 200 DLX!! we took it out for a cruise today love it. needs a good cleaning, but the seats aren't as great as we thought they were. only found a few small cracks in the top of the seats and figured it would be a simple fix. but upon further inspection along the tops of all seats they feel very brittle. i was wondering if there was a cleaner or something that might bring them back somewhat. had the idea of mink oil!! i used to use it on my baseball gloves when i was younger??? any ideas would be helpfull. i know i am looking at a fat chunk to have them all redone!!

First welcome

Not much you can do to vinyl once it is damaged. The key is keep out of sun, Keep clean and keep it protected with 303

Glad to be on here! What is 303? I was kind of afraid that it was a little too late. i put some duck tape over a the cracked spots that had been split open to avoid any more water getting into the cushions, guess we will be looking into prices on reupholstering. have seven young kids so i know that the furniture won't last long with them!!

Yep once it get brittle, don't know of anything to bring it back. Hope you got a pretty good deal on the boat. I deducted about 1500 from my 98 when I sold it. The vinyl had just started getting brittle an cracking. Prices I got for recovering was almost equal to new furniture, so I just sold it as is. Still it was a good solid boat less the vinyl

What is 303?

Vinyl cleaner and protector available at many/most marine supply retailers.

Probably going to need to be recovered or replaced... Keep that cover on when you are not using it, the sun is brutal on vinyl... Welcome to the forum!!
