plus it's not against the law to be stupid.
I think this falls under one of Darwin's laws.
In the struggle for survival, the fittest win out at the expense of their rivals because they succeed in adapting themselves best to their environment. (Charles Darwin)

i wish it would change the law. you want to see it stopped? make the consequences of
running with someone out front $10,000 cash plus 90 days--no exceptions. then actually
enforce the law. the problem will disappear within a few months.
the reality is that society values the freedom to be a stupid jackass more than the life of an innocent.
if you allow the population to lose common sense, then the government must exercise it.
but not this government.

I hope they don't change the laws to cover some stupid asses ass.
Thats the problem now we try to have the government control every aspect of our lives. Then we get mad because they have the power. When do people take responsibility for their own actions, plus it's not against the law to be stupid.

I think a rule against hanging over the bow exist in NH. Our boating laws are tough and I agree with that approach. NH requires boating certification as well and they focus on saftey primarily. Laws are there to protect inoccent people from ignorant and out of control people. Boats are fun but very dangerous if not used properly.

I would guess every state in the union has a law about passengers in a boat. I would guess all states would stop you if your hanging over the front of the boat while moving. But it sure did not do much good in the above story. There is never enough people to enforce the laws 100% of the time.
A lot of people will say this was a stupid accident. I say your wong there are no such things as accidents. They are caused by someone so it was somthing that was done on purpose so now you have an accident. When you can place blame on a person for it then it was not an accident. It was deliberate.
