We're looking at an Berkshire pontoon is there anything to report on these good or bad....
The Pontoon boat manufacture is actually Forest River Marine which actually markets their boats under different model lines like Government Motors and Ford. Back when we bought our first Pontoon Boat they were carrying model lines such as Odyssey and Lextra. It now appears they have changed their model line names to South Bay and Berkshire on their current lineup of pontoon models. Though I've not had an opportunity to see any of the Berkshire's myself their are several newer South Bays purchased and used in the area I boat in. I've personally looked them over and they have every appearance and aspect of being a well made sturdy boat. And I've not heard of their owners having and problems with them as of yet.

It's a shame that they've changed their floor-plans in their newer models. Back when we purchased ours they had a wonderful fishing and touring model available. That did a wonderful duel duty job of both. Though it only offered two actual fishing seats it had a front gate cut out and designed for a trolling motor, large divided flip flop seat live-well and a lot more available seating for passengers for touring. It was the perfect pontoon boat as far as I was concerned and we loved ours. Hopefully you'll find the perfect pontoon boat to fit your needs also. But remember their are a lot of makes and models available out there, and it sounds as if you'll be buying new. So hold out before parting with your $$$$$ for the make and model that fits your wants and needs.

Thanks all

They to seem like a well built toon they have a 22 footer at the showroom and I crawled all over and under it. It was very nice and the welding was 2nd to none very fine job there. Had a bunch of options and stuff and only $26500 Not to bad in my mind anyway.

Only problem is from the wife "It needs a bigger motor" But I think I can deal with that !! the model had a 115HP

Thanks
Mike
