Awesome project rght there. The only thing I can add, waaaaaaay late is that I think you could actually push the camper back a little further, potoon boats seem to ride a little better with aft weight. It gets the nose out of the water and helps the toons ride on top of, instead of pushing through, the water. No matter, still a very cool project!

It does look pretty redneck from the pictures I've seen Not that that's a bad thing I'd love to spend a weekend hanging out on setup like that It would be pretty cool to take 3 steps into bed after a day on the lake and watch a little TV on the flatscreen.RonKMiller wrote: I think you need to comprehend that this is not some redneck special -and if you would take a few minutes and read back through the previous posts from the beginning - you won't be quite so quick to shoot from the hip.

I've been admiring this project for months now. I just thought of something else I like about it.....
You have to love a boat that has turn signals and brake lights!
Ron, will the brakes work on the water?
Nice work so far. Continued best wishes for the work ahead. Hope to join you on Lake Powell someday.

I think I'll hook up the brake and side marker lights on the trailer, the all around light way up top on the peak of the roof and the two front nav lights on the deck as an "emergency" flasher.woolznaz wrote:I've been admiring this project for months now. I've already got a siren app on my Droid, so all I need then is a cheapy Radio Shack bullhorn to have some real fun...
I wonder how much bail is at the Page lock up.

I think you're right since I've now spent more money on my pontoon boat than my edumacation!

Toon trailer wheel tie downs
Between the 12,000 lb. test nylon straps, 2 locking wheel clamps, 12 1/2"grade 8 fasteners and all metal locknuts I don't think the trailer will be going anywhere...
Still working on securing the post up front near the hitch, it only carries about 250 lbs. of tongue weight.

Looking good!
Can't wait to see the finished product.
What's the time line? Is it gonna be ready for this summer?

The ole turn on all the lights trick...
Grab a 10 amp mini fuse and while holding up the trailers 7 pin connector and staring at it, with the square alignment thingy on top, jam the fuse in shorting across the pins at the 11 and 1 o'clock position.
Tada!
All the lights on the camper will come on....
ps gonna use up battery power though...

Wow, that video REALLY makes me want to get up to Lake Powell this summer. I MUST get my boat up there in 2011. It'll be a great break from the heat in the summer.

New rear roof made from Suntuf polycarbonate
This stuff kicks butt. Rejects 99% of UV rays, is clear and virtually unbreakable, amazingly cool underneath. I chose Solar Gray which allows 35% light transmission since I wanted a "glass roof" feel to my shade cover. Available at Home Depot. The frame for the roof was built from the deck railing and folding bimini shade of the donor Party Hut.

This is the rear roof, the front will be 8 X 10" and also permanently mounted.
