I was looking around for a site dealing with just toons , and ran across this one , smiles and read a bit in the posts and it looks like the place for me, I just getting back on the water after 4 years. I was forced to stop because of bad cataracts, but 2 opperations and I am back. I had wanted a toon for some time after being on a friends for several years .He had to sale his so I decided to buy one and ditch my 18 foot glass boat. Bought a old 1988 Riviera Cruiser, most likely paid a bit to much but it was exactly what I wanted to start out with to restore, a nice well built 20 foot, nissian 40 hp. on a Bear trailer with Dexter hubs and bump rails I mostly night fish for cats and have done so for years and my plan was to set one up just to fish from including building furniture, rod boxes, and rod racks, and so far its went very well it has gotten used a good bit, with the exception of having to change lakes because of the bass thugs, lol nothing like a motor change to a 9.9 and a limited hp lake to get ride of the 350 hp bass idiots and jet skis, and so far 2 trips out and I have landed around 60 pounds total of nice blues, but more of that later in other sections , being as I am retired grins i get to spend a lot of time out , and a good bit here on the net. So see you around.

Welcome to the Pontoon Forum. It's habit forming, and certainly less hazardous to you nerves than watching CNBC and CNN 24 hours a day--like other retirees.

I used to travel a little of West Virginia on my job, and was surprised at the absolutely beautiful lakes and rivers snaking through the mountains. I think it's very much a secret. SHHH! I won't tell anyone.

I live in a premier area fishing for catfish, largemouths and especially smallmouths. Fortunately, the lakes are wide where most pleasure boating is--and the fishermen and jet skiers are not a nuisance. The offshore racing boats are what bother us--with their wide open exhausts.

We'd like to see pictures of your reconditioning job--when you finish.
