1992 monark 24' rebuild

I figure I'm close enough to having most of my parts I need, so I might as well start my official rebuild! The boat is a 1992 24' monark, the motor is a 1996 Johnson 112 that I had to have rebuilt. I've had my toon for over a year now but haven't done much to it because rebuilding the motor took up my seat money and then some. My plan is change my current layout to a fishing layout, I going to have fishing seats in all four corners but still retain all my couches and sun deck in between. I'm gonna use a double bimini but it will be mounted so it dosent interfear with casting from the front and rear fishing stations! I plan on using vinyl flooring and building a raised helm stand for a better view for the captian. I'm changing all lights to led and adding led rope lights around the furniture. Some of this I've done as I've had the boat for over a year but I'm gonna start from the beginning! Here she is the day I got her and cleaned her up the best I can!





The interior dosent look as good anymore, when I did my first cleaning I used ALOT of bleach not knowing it would ruin them, plus after the motor blew I was pretty mad and it sat in the Texas sun for a long time uncovered.





You can see the difference in carpet color where it's faded over the years. It's also really thin you can see the backing in a few spots

I did a little updating to the outside first as it's alot cheaper than new seats! The old graphics where fading and missing in some spots and I had finally ordered my new double bimini that was red so the original color wasn't going to work here's the progress! Stripped the graphics and sanded smooth





I masked all the rails with tape



Then primed



After a few coats of primer the paint went on



I parked it in the yard and let the Texas sun go to work



Next I installed the double bimini



Then the led anchor and navigation lights went on





Then I added the graphics that I did for my grandpaw, he wanted me to name my son after him but we didn't so I did the next best thing and named the toon after him, he thought this was great!!

These where took a few weeks ago, I cleaned the toons with coil cleaner and scrubbed them with a SOS pad they are not done but look alot better than they did

Ok I've started on the interior but it's gonna be awhile before it's done! Here is a pic of my fishing seats I got in awhile back, I set one up there to get a pic and to see how the red stripe looked





Now the fun starts, I started stripping the furniture and I couldn't bealive how HEAVY the couches where. All the bases are wood and where waterlogged, the backrest on the front couches where full of water and where so heavy I couldn't lift them until I sat them at a angle and drained the water....I bet I removed 500lbs of furniture























My grandpaw has heavy lifting trash pickup at his house so he took care of the old seats

Feel free to ask any questions or make any suggestions I'm all ears. I'm going to try and set up my new seats in the garage tomorrow and take a pic I've just been busy lately Christmas shopping! This is where I am now so bear with me!

Thanks guys, My front couches, leanbacks and I changed from a armrest to a corner seat in the front I'm ordering it today. With any luck I'll have my vinyl flooring pretty soon, then all I will need is a console! Toonguy, you right I already love that seat! I wanted to put them in all four corners as fishing chairs but space wouldn't allow, pluse there $400 bucks a pop so counting the captain chair that's 2grand! I saved alot of money getting the small fishing seats!

Thanks, all parts where purchased from pontoonstuff.com, the seats themselves are made by WISE, alot of people sell them but I found the best price at pontoonstuff, plus they offer free shipping and no sales tax!!! I couldn't be happier with my seats I think they are great quality and well built seats...I'd buy them again....

Dissreguard this I ordered the front seats earlier and I got 2 lean back lounges, 2-55" couches and I'm going to get 2-arm rest from a different vendor because PS dosent offer the ones I want anymore....should be here Monday!! O I also got my vinyl flooring and the glue to install it!

Here's a little update, I've been stripping the deck this is what I've got done so far

Made some GREAT progress today, got my vinyl floor installed! It's wasn't to hard of a job just makes it alot easier when you've got help. I love this stuff, there is no way I would ever get carpet again, if you fish this is the way to go! This is when we first rooled it out on the deck



Folded the front half back and started spreading the glue





After it was all glued I started rolling away





Here's a few shots of the completed job, it looked great. I only had a few imperfections where I had to plug a hole, but it's not even noticeable unless I show you!









I'm more than happy with the way it turned out, I would definitely recommend this!

Ryan, that vinyl decking looks absolutely GREAT!!!!! You did a heck of a job.... And I agree with you, for those of us who fish off our toons, vinyl is the best way to go....I have it on my toon and love it.. keep the pics coming... it looks great!
