THE FLOATER UPDATE!

#1 Post by curtiscapk » Mon May 28, 2012 8:09 pm

Well son of a bitch if we don't have a running toon again!! Best weekend ever!! :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup It was pretty windy all weekend and THE FLOATER STILL HIT 20!!! Lake had over 1+ ft swells all weekend. The old captain even got on the tube and showed up the young willow snappers!! I tubed over 3 miles and finally made sure they saw me say I was dumping! The grand daughter and daugher in law even made it down on Sunday. We just tooled around at under 4k on Saturday and then on Sunday we would stay under 4k and then full blast off and on when people were tubing :thumbsup She runs really quiet and only used half tank on Sunday with over 3 hours of anywhere from 3k to WOT. Met up with my bro at my personal beaching spot. He says how the hell did you think you could get through the trees... Go slow baby go slow. Now he loves the spot. :drink I figured out all my wiring finally! I had issues coming into the ramp on Saturday short story(dead battery trying came into ramp 100 ft out), but we now have just motor on main battery and everything else on secondary. Figured out the wiring instead of putting name sticker on the toon on Sunday. We go the sticker on this morning. Assorted pics below with captions.

Was thinking the same thing about depth when I dove off the top of my sundeck near the dam. Figured what the heck the water is 100ft deep. Once I got back on the toon it crossed my mind that if there had been a submerged log floating a few feet below the surface, I would have been toast.

Another tidbit I thought I'd share.

Before the motor fried, my Bro could inch past me with his rude 70hp., in a head to head race. I thought it was all the extra weight. :donno

Well lets fast forward to Saturday. We were side by side and I was at about 3/4 throttle turning 4k.

I gave him the hammer down sign and he proceeds to show me it is down..so I hit it and popped up as much of the front as will pop ( 2 inches) :rofl :rofl but just left him sitting there!!!!! :fasttoon :fasttoon :guitar :guitar :punchballs :uglypoke :rockon We get back to camp and his wife comes over to our place and first thing out of her mouth was, Damn that thing runs now!! :thumbsup :thumbsup

Anyone around kc or LOTO that isn't happy with their mechanic. Call the Boat Doc at Bucksaw on Truman, it is in between Warsaw and Clinton.

Guy knows his stuff!
