My guess is the dealer or OEM was eating part of the cost to get the product out. The stuff is fantastic, but it is extremely expensive. I've researched this product for over 2 years now and the cost didn't just drastically jump...it's been high from the get go in the aftermarket.

For what it's worth Restore Pontoon is the first I've seen to offer Woven PVC to the aftermarket. You can check it out here:

We live in Michigan so mold will always be an issue since the sun is so sporadic here. Love my Michigan though! Can't wait until our boat gets delivered to our dock in the Spring!

Wow! $1,025 for the material alone on a 23' boat. That's really wow. Plus $115 for the special adhesive.
Great bit of information. Thanks for sharing.
2014 Bennington 2250GBR. Blackout Edition. Every option.

Then if you take it fishing it's easy to clean up too, not just for dumping bodies anymore :rofl :rofl :rofl

This is also what we went with on our Premier. Absolutely love it. Feels great on the feet and cleans as easy as vinyl.

Anything less than a really good aluminum welder could leave you with pin holes and on the inner side of the strake could be a real nightmare to repair. I used to buy an aluminum brazing rod that was really foolproof but I haven't seen it in 30 years. It had a pink coating and was really easy to use with oxyacetylene.
