Hey Guys...I would like to pick your brain about something... I keep my boat in an indoor stoarge facility... they used to have one of those battery powered dollys that I could use to hook up to my boat trailer, and just pull my boat out into the middle of the building to hook it up to my truck.. same thing on return, used the battery powered dolly to move my boat around and just back it into my spot.... well the dolly is no longer available, and my boat storage space is located very near the one big door that you enter and leave the building thru.. since the space is so close to the front door, I can't just hook up to my truck and pull it out... I have to push the boat out of the space, then back and forth until I can get the boat into an area where I can hook up to the truck.. fortunately the boat and trailer are pretty light so it's not a huge deal.. however the issue I have is when pushing the trailer, I keep having to kick the wheel on the trailer jack to get the boat to go in the direction I want.. and that wheel doesn't cooperate very often... you'll roll the boat a couple of feet and the damn wheel will change directions.. so I am trying to find something I can set the trailer jack / wheel on ( something with wheels obviously ) that will allow me to push my boat and trailer in the direction I want it to go without having to kick the damn wheel on the trailer jack stand... I tried using one of these moveable planter stands ( pictured below )that my wife had on the patio, but because of the position on the slats, the weight of the boat and trailer just forced the planter stand up on it's side... there may be a product out there may just for this purpose, but I don't know about it.. was hoping some of you did.. if not, if you had some ideas of something I could buy ( not build ) that would work... appreciate your help... thanks fellas....

I lift my tongue with a floor jack and pull mine around, works great.

Roland you got me thinking. I have the same problem with the wheel getting my boat in the garage just how I want it. Found this. Now it is around $300, but for me I think it will work great.

I have a very slight incline on my driveway outside of my garage. I found it difficult to push around my Waverunner on a trailer--and impossible to push around my Bennie on it's tandem trailer. I'm even cautious when pulling my tritoon in--afraid it'll get rolling down the hill into my house.

That Trailer Valet looks to be a pretty good idea.

I use my floor jack too and I agree you could make ball adapter to replace the saddle. These Omega's are made by Sinn Fu USA and are a quality quick lift jack. This same jack is on tool trucks with a brand name for twice the price. I've sold dozens and own one myself

Thanks for the info guys.... I think I'm leaning to a trailer dolly like the one posted by bamby above..... seems like it would be the simplest solution.. I saw that trailer jack valet on youtube last night and I really like it, but I'm not crazy about the fact that you have to crank it to move it and it seems to move awfully slow.... If I were dealing with a slight incline I would certainly look into it, but the floor at my boat storage facility is level and smooth as glass and it's easy to move the boat around in there..... but now that leads me to my next question... i've seen these trailer dolly's with tongue ratings from 500 up to 1000 lbs.... I'm guessing my boat, motor and trailer weigh a total of around 3000 lbs ( give or take )... so which of the tongue weight on the trailer dollys should I look at, 500, 600, 800 or more pounds...is there a formula for total weight = X tongue weight? and a second question, most of the dollys I saw were like the one pictured above, with two wheels, but I've seen some that have a 3rd wheel, centrally located between the other two wheels, and staggered off behind the other two wheels...is that third wheel significant... so weight and wheels, whatdayathink? I'd like to get one ordered asap because I dropped my boat off saturday to have the outboard serviced, so me and momma will be on the lake hopefully right after easter.. I would "GUESS" your tongue weight isn't over 500lb Roland. One way to prove it, can you pick up the tongue yourself? Unelss you can dead lift a lot more than the rest of us (may be possible) then it's probably under 500lbs.

Not trying to hijack your thread Roland but saw a video on youtube where a guy made an adapter to use his cordless drill with the Trailer Valet.

That's what I was thinking, if it hadn't been done, it could be with one the cordless tools out there

Thanks again guys for your help... think I'm going to go with this one... 1000lb tongue weight ( yeah, I know it's overkill, but my son has a couple of tandem axle trailers that are pretty hefty so it would be something he could use as well ) 16" flat free wheels and a 10" flat free swivel caster wheel... adjustable 2" ball that goes from 21 to 33 inches...should do what I need it to do without any problems... again, thanks for all your help.
