2015 Lowe SS210, try-toon, strakes, under skinning, 150 HP Mercury, best I got was 38.4 with 4 people. Original Energia SS 15 pitch prop. Most of the time it tops at 36/37 with more then 4 & full tank.

Curious as to what prop your running (specs) and what's your final drive? I've got a Sun Tracker 22" fishing barge with the 90 Fourstroke and the 2.38:1 final drive (command thrust) with a 15x17P black max prop. Best I hit was 33MPH at 5100 rpms.

I've recently removed the v guard on transom and that cured my cavitation but the best speed I could hit was 26 MPH at 5000 rpms no matter where the motor was trimmed to.

Mercury prop selector suggest I go with a black max 15.5 x15p, I'm just curious as I spoke to tracker marine yesterday and they said I have the right prop.

Granted I have no lifting strakes (YET) but I'm trying to dial my top end in.

TIA,
MIke
I think you have the right prop. I doubt you'll get much better than 33, thats pretty impresive.

My boat came stock with an aluminum 13.75x15P prop and it ran 33MPH at 6.1K RPM. That is a nice all around prop for most conditions but would not hit the higher 30's. Just a bit small.

I have tried 13.25x16P and 13.25x17P aluminum props as well. For an aluminum prop, the 13.25x16P prop works best. I can only run the 17P prop if I am by myself and on a very smooth surface but when I do, that's when I can make 38-40MPH but very inconsistently.

I'm now running a stainless Powertech NSR3 prop...13.25x16P and I am very happy with it. It still makes 6KRPM easily with a light boat.

Let's see... 24' tritoon without strakes, and 3 300 HP egg-beaters in the back would give me about 150 MPH...

Well yeah, if it held together without disintegrating. Of course, that would rip the canvas off, and maybe even the fence.

I guess I'll stick with 21-24 MPH from my 115.

I'm not complaining but after I removed the V guard 26 mph at 5000 rpms was top speed. In my warped mind there is 1000 rpms still on the table

My 20' double barrel, with the Yamaha F90, gets me up to 26 @ 5100 RPM. That's with the wife, the dog, me, and a full tank of gas. Half tank will get me another MPH. My prop is a 13.5 (I think) and 15P.

I need another toon or to skin the bottom...or both!
Everyone is faster on the water than us, and alot apparently have less hp!
I'm considering purchasing a 2013 Berkshire Pontoon Premium Series 250E with a Yamaha 150.
Any thoughts?

I have a 20 foot 1986 Bass Buggy with 60hp 2004 Yamaha, and with the wind just right and going down stream I made 26mph. But then I have only one seat and just camping and fishing gear. My dogs don't seem to mind sitting on the deck.

StarCraft Stardeck 216 with the 115hp Yamaha. By myself I can get the boat up to 30mph when the water is perfect.
