Re: BBQ
Just my opinion as I have never had one,
The mess of grease, invitation to rodents when stored are enough to make me opt out.
My Weber Baby Q is easy to transport to a beach for cooking.

Re: BBQ
How much do you have in it total, Mike?
I'm about to get one real soon, but I'd like to spend a maximum of $150. That would have to include the grill, rail mount, and cover.
Either that or if it's really worth it to spend extra and get a particularly nice grill, I'd get the grill first and just put it over a towel on deck, and that way I could still use it while saving up money for the rail mount and accessories.
I really like BMR's. I've been looking at those for a while now. BMR, do you have the stove/grill/oven, or just the grill? What do you recommend? I'm really curious to know how the Kettle turns from a grill into an oven.

Re: BBQ
I think BRM's is one of those magma grills.
They are real nice, but they are proud of em. You prob wont find one for less then $200 unless you go charcoal.
Ive always wanted to add one onto ours, but have never gotten to it yet cause, well, apparently im lazy..
A few folks on here have 'rigged' up their own version of a railing grill with some sweet results!
Im sure they will pop into this thread...

Re: BBQ
I have over $200 in mine, I looked at it as a good investment that will last as long as my boat. The grill comes off easy and has legs that fold out so you can use it on the beach (which we have) and on a picnic bench (which we have). No regrets spending more upfront, I have seen what happens to regular cheap steel bbq's after a season... Every part of my grill is made from stainless and can cleanup to new in a few hours... Sometimes you just need to spend the money, but perhaps if enough interest is had, we can get them to give pontoonforums.com a better group rate?

Sweet Mike! Thanks man! Yeah, I don't want to go cheap, which is why I'd rather get a nice grill, and slowly add accessories rather than buy a bunch of junk all at once and save money. I view it as a lifetime investment, much like the speakers.

Re: BBQ
Mine is a West Marine (made by Magma). Had it since 2006 without a single problem. I can be turned into an oven by buying the optional heat plate (spreads the heat evenly, it's basically an SS plate with holes in it.) from West Marine. I never bought that because the PC has a Microwave and electric/alcohol stove as well.

Re: BBQ
To ad to my post about how much we like our Magna we bought the table top mount legs for it and take it on our jeep rides and use it as our portable grill. Everything cooks so even and well, no flame ups.
To the person who talked about the grease.... the grill hangs over the edge of our boat so we don't see any signs of grease. We clean the grill each day, it is stainless so it is easy to clean.

Re: BBQ
I have a kuuma propane model 83790, which can be purchased from Amazon. I got lucky last year after I bought my boat, and got the grill, rail mount, pedistal, and cutting board for about $150. Two weeks later I purchased the stow and go bag ($30), which I have enough room for the grill, lighters, and two bottles of propane. Unfortunatly I do not see the same prices this season. I did purchase directly from a Kuuma sales Rep.
I have used the grill in winds of 20 mph, and never had a cool spot, or flame being blown out, this is truly a marine grill.
The contact info of the sales person I had purchased from is:
Paul in his remote office, call 604-882-8674
I have no complaints, and love the grill. I also have used it on a park table, as it also has foldable legs.
Either way, good luck!!!
I will post pictures later.

Re: BBQ
Hello everyone, hope I'm not too late to share.
Here is my grill:

I have little more than $25 in it. Walmart had a camping LP gas grill for $25 and I made the mount out of junk I had laying around the garage. The legs can still fold down and the grill can be used as-is on a table top without removing the rail mount.

A welder and some creativity can go a long way. The only thing I measured were my 1 1/4" rails and the clamps that will mount to them. Everything else was pretty much eyeballed. For a small grill around the size that people mount to the boat, $25 seems about right, $40 seems steep, and $100 / $200 / $250 etc... seems
insane!!! But that's just my opinion
