Hello Everyone.
New to the forum.
My family and I have a 2005 22ft Sun Tracker Regency Party Barge with 3.0L mercuiser with alpha1 out drive. We have had a problem with water entering the bilge via a drain point at the rear of the pontoon where the rail meets the deck. Was wondering if anyone has this kind of set up and are having same problem we are experiencing?
I will try to post some pics of the boat soon.

We have really enjoyed our Sun Tracker this summer except for a few problems we have experienced including the one I mentioned above. I recon You don't have that problem having an outboard. Almost wish that we would have went with an outboard.
But I'm just glad we've been blessed to have a boat to enjoy getting out on the water. It's so much fun!

Capt. can you post pics of the spot you are talking about? Is this werer the bellows are? It is common area to leak and you need to replace the bellows.

I will try to get a pic to post. But it is a drain port where the deck and rails meet at the back of boat and when under way there is so much water being thrown up at the back of the boat that it comes in through this drain point and over the barrier lip around the bilge and into the bilge. I did not believe it until I had my wife drive and I watched it come in over the lip like it was coming in up from the floor. The boat sits low in the water, but no water in the toons. Just had the gimbal bearing and bellows replaced couple of weeks ago, but we had this problem since we bought the boat about a year ago.

Yes I agree. I had problems with water getting in the bilge of my Party Cruiser (it was that problem that got me to sign up on pontoon forums). My fix was to underskin around the engine pod. Problem solved.

What happens is the water hits the stern rubrail and is deflected up and over the deck. Water goes right into the bilge.

It's not a problem with just I/O boats, but most outboard boats have open engine pods where water flows through anyway.

Your bellows should last 6-10 years without issues..that is unless you have muskrats, which find rubber bellows pretty tasty.

Where are you doing your boating? I can tell it's not in the Wolf River.

When I bought my inboard/outboard boat @ Shelby Marine in 1980, I put it in @ Mud Island--never to go there again. The Mississippi River is just not a very interesting place.
