I guess it's all those inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages that I post. :donno

P.S. msautosource - Sorry we got so off topic. It happens sometimes here. :lol3

Good luck shopping for your motor. I think 150HP will get you a good distance in a timely manner.

My desire is certainly not to be the fastest on the water but would like to get to and from a good distance in a timely manner.

Thanks to all who have offered their opinion!

Back to the topic- Do your self a big favor, go drive a boat with AT LEAST A 200hp before you settle for less. IMO: that seemed to be the line that separate the men from the boys. I drove a 23' similar setup to mine with a 175hp and saw almost no difference in performance.

Do we know for sure what the placard says about capacity on the boat? The op mentioned he thought it might be 150. If so you may run into problems hanging a 200 on there.

Also. As far as brand, is there any rigging or steering parts left? If so that my dictate your brand if you don't want to have to rebuy those parts.

I KNOW it's an old argument, but capacity stickers can be wrong. Mine is, and I know some of the here have the same issue.
