Tire question

ok i have the short fat tires on my trailer and i am going to need to get some now ones, these are dry rotting. any way what do ya think about going with the narrow tires instead of the wide ones? i see a lot of big toons running single axle and skinny tires.. mine is tandum axle... it 24' wit only a few pieces of furniture on it... thanks

I have the small fat tires and love'em I am already 12' 4" while on the trailer with the sundeck so they serve me well.

There should be a sticker on the trailer that shows the recommended tire size.

Buy what it says to use, you don't want the liability of non-approved tires.

All tires have a load rating stamped on them. Typically the more plies the higher the the load rating. The trailer tires seem to run from 2 ply on the low end to 8to10ply on the high end. I recently bought a spare tire at northern tool and noticed the load rating was several hundred pounds below the ones I have on my trailer now, so I may return it.

I would stick with the same size and type of tire you have or the trailer recommends. Whatever you do, make sure to buy a trailer tire, or your boat and trailer will be dancing and bouncing all over the highway. I would guess the wider tires would be much more stable for your setup.
