Rock, mud, or sand bottom? Ours is mostly mud and sand and a box anchor holds us just fine.

I did look at the box anchors, seems simple enough to cut and weld one up. How many pounds are the ones that you are using ? How many square inches are the one you are using ? is one enough or do I need 2 for opposite end of the boat ?

I considered doing this too. But the ones you buy can fold, and I believe are fairly light weight. I'm not sure I'd be able to fab one up that stores as easily as a store bought one. Or as light for that matter. Then again, I'm really amateur when it comes to metals and welding.casca92 wrote:yes,
