Well, if anyone has ordered a part from iShopMarine.com, I hope you had better luck than I've been having. I placed the order Friday evening and expected a tracking number on Monday (I requested 3-day UPS shipping and paid more for it). As of this morning when I did not receive a tracking number, I filled out their online Customer Service form to get information about my order.

After 2 hours and no response from my submitting the form, I started calling their Customer Service dept. I would always get a message that the next customer service rep would be with me shortly. The next message said that all customer service reps were busy. I was then given the opportunity to press 1 and leave a message. If I didn't press 1 to leave a message, I would then hear, "Thank you for calling. Good bye" and I would get disconnected. I tried calling back several times and always got the same result (no matter which option I chose from their automated phone system). So after 4 hours from submitting the first Customer Service form, I called and left a message that I wanted to be contacted within 1 hour (I don't think I'm being unreasonable since I have tried numerous attempts at contacting someone). After that 1 hour and still no phone call or email, I submitted another Customer Service form and cancelled my order.

I have now placed an order through a local dealership -- and I'm paying a little more now than I was originally. I'll have to call back tomorrow to get a tracking number once the order has been shipped from whoever they ordered the part from.

This has been a very frustrating day. :x :x

I will put that one on my list of people not to use. I have had pretty good luck with boats.com. That resolves to a guy in Lake Placid Florida for me. I assume they find a participating dealer near you.

I usually have them ship small parts USPS priority mail and I get them in a couple days.

Greg, did you mean boat.net instead of boats.com? When I looked at boats.com, it was just for ordering boats and engines (I couldn't see anything about parts). I checked boats.net before, but they were showing an older part number than what I had found on several other sites -- but the discounted price was the same that I saw on iShopMarine.com.

Well, if I continue to run into problems with the local dealer, I guess I'll be cancelling that order and then trying boats.net.

Thanks for the feedback.

The new voltage regulator/rectifier finally came in last night. Once I saw the connectors on the new part, I realized this shouldn't be too difficult to swap the part out. The only real difficult part is getting the last bolt out of the original part since that bolt sits under the air filter unit. I think with a small swivel socket I can get down to that bolt.

I have my buddy (he works at a local marine dealership) scheduled to come and help put the part on tonight. I still want him to do a complete check of the motor and systems (this hasn't been done since we bought the used boat just over a month ago).

Here are the connectors on the new part.
